Madhur Dayal Business Broker
Madhur Dayal is a finance professional who has worked across industries as a Portfolio Manager, CFO and C-level executive, including executive positions at multiple investment banks. He was a founding team member at a hedge fund where he co-managed investment funds of over $200 million, and across his career has deployed over $1 billion in investor capital. He has also founded two companies, both since acquired, one of which served as the CFO, accounting and finance department for over a hundred businesses, and he has helped raise Series A and B rounds for tech and ecommerce start-ups.
That range, from start-ups raising venture or private equity capital through to companies planning an exit, is what moved him into M&A advisory.
His advantage is that he evaluates a transaction the way an investor would, because he has been one. With sellers he starts by understanding the business, works through the financials, and makes the changes needed to get them buyer-ready. To find the right buyer he uses his own network of investors and private equity funds alongside the firm’s database of over 1.3 million buyers.
With buyers he starts from goals, risk tolerance, financial capacity, skill set and purchase criteria, then matches accordingly and structures terms that work for both sides.
Every transaction has make-or-break moments. Anticipating them and structuring around them, rather than letting a deal collapse, is what he considers the job.
Madhur holds a Master’s in Engineering from Ohio State University and an MBA in finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern, and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (inactive). His spare time goes on tennis and travelling with his family.
