Gwen Sylvester has overseen more than $200 million in business acquisition transactions. Before Website Closers she was Senior Director of Acquisitions at Thrasio, where she closed over a hundred transactions involving online and ecommerce businesses.
Having spent that time as a buyer gives her a particular read on the sell side. She knows what preparation, marketing and negotiation look like from across the table, and she uses it. Her work with a seller covers the financials, the exit structure they actually want, and the characteristics of the business that will generate buyer demand. She advises on positioning, then brings vetted and qualified buyers to the table rather than volume.
Working with buyers, she is strict about criteria. She surfaces the brands that are genuinely relevant instead of showing everything on the market.
Gwen lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, daughter and Australian cattle dog. She is a committed Pacific Northwesterner and makes full use of the region’s food, wine and outdoors.
