Andrew Castaldy brings nearly twenty years of Wall Street experience in finance, management and operations. He spent over twelve years with a New York based private hedge fund as CFO and COO, working M&A transactions across public and private markets alongside experienced investment bankers, at a firm that raised and deployed nearly $2 billion in event-driven and special situations investments across the US and Europe.
Before those executive roles he was a Senior Analyst sourcing and evaluating opportunities for the firm’s investment strategies. Valuation and financial analysis are where he is strongest, and he brings that discipline to both sides of a transaction.
For sellers, his work starts with education: how the sale process runs, what current market conditions are, and what preparing the business actually involves. That means accurate financials, a defensible valuation, a clear read on the seller’s expectations, and hands-on involvement at every stage. He also maintains a standing buyer network, which can produce a more targeted pool and a faster process.
For buyers, first-time or repeat, he defines the target precisely, advises on how to use their prior experience, and matches them to opportunities with the highest probability of success. Financial analysis, valuation guidance, creative deal structuring, and introductions to lenders and industry professionals all come with that.
He also works with family offices, private equity firms and portfolio companies active in M&A, developing an understanding of each firm’s criteria and sourcing against it.
Complementary skills from his financial services years include capital raising, client relations, equity trading, accounting, tax planning and financial and managerial operations.
A native Long Islander, Andrew now lives in Charleston with his wife, two children and two dogs.
